Valentine, we go together like Milk and Cookies! I wanted to make a new valentine this year for Valentine’s Day, so I came up with this one to match my Milk and Cookies Birthday Party invitation in brown, light blue and a touch of red. How cute are these little cookies?

Recognize those little cookies? It’s Cookie Crisp cereal! But instead of just adding Cookie Crisp to the bags, I came across this cute idea from Cookies and Cups to put melted white chocolate in the middle. Even more brilliant! Now, you don’t have to get all fancy like that, feel free to just put the Cookie Crisp cereal in there. I won’t judge.

Football Party Ideas and Recipes

If you are anything like me, Football Parties and the Super Bowl are more about the food and decor than the game itself. No matter what the event is, I like everything to be pretty! So I thought I would put together a round up with some of the cutest printables I have found to get your Football or Super Bowl Party started right. Enjoy!

These adorable little popcorn boxes and food trays can be downloaded over at Hostess With The Mostess. Plus, you will find printable pretzel bags, cupcake toppers and drink labels!

Don’t forget the kids, if you have them. Here is a free printable football helmet to help get them in the football spirit too. Why not color one yourself in your favorite teams colors? Coloring page found at She Knows.

Of course you are going to need a few food ideas and recipes. Let’s start off with an appetizer, because everyone loves a good dip! How about giving this Beer Dip a try from Lady Behind The Curtain.

Another quick and easy way to entertain your guests is to put out a DIY Nacho Bar! Guests will love that they can add the things they like, and you do the prep work in advance so that you can enjoy the party too. Recipe over at The Magical Slow Cooker.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas and Tags for Kids

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking about the ones you love. One of my favorite ways to share some love is to give a little something sweet to my kids’ friends at school and their teachers. Here are a few of my Valentine’s Day gift ideas and tags to make it a sweet day!

I made these super easy Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks last year they came out so cute! Just dip large pretzel rods in chocolate, then sprinkle with heart shaped confetti or pink and red sprinkles before they dry. Place them in a bag and add a tag “Stick with me Valentine!” designed by The Pretty Party Shoppe. You can find the printable version HERE.

“This was Sofia’s 2nd birthday party. It was definitely for a princess. When I pictured Sofia’s birthday, I wanted it to be something out of a storybook. The entertainment was most important to me. I wanted to have a high quality princess and that is exactly what I got with Enchanted Fairytale Parties. Snow White came in, danced with the kids, read them a story and did face painting. My daughter could not believe her eyes.

The kids also enjoyed snow cones and cotton candy out by the pool. Catering was done by our in house chef. For favors we gave the kids apple sippy cups and Snow White jigsaw puzzles that fit the theme perfectly. We had a dulce de leche birthday cake and sweets from the sweets table. The event was flawlessly coordinated by Imagine This Events and fun was had by all.”

Modern Outer Space Birthday Party

Earlier this year, I was asked to create a custom Modern Outer Space Birthday Party for a dear friend of mine. My daughter and her son have been friends since they were just 4 months old, so it was an honor to create something “out of the world” for the birthday boy!

We quickly decided on the colors turquoise, orange and lime green. The first thing I did was get started on the invitation. I loved the cute clipart set by DreAmLoft!

Next, I started on making the centerpieces. I had a vision that I wanted them to look like a real moon with craters and have a large rocket blasting off from it. To personalize it, I added a “P” and a “4″ to the rocket’s port holes. I also added planets and an astronaut. I found some silver star wire at the dollar store and wrapped it around the base. Then, I made chocolate star lollipops in matching colors and stuck them around the base as well. I just love how it turned out! (Later this week I will share a step-by-step tutorial on how I made the moon centerpieces.)

For the dessert table, I made Marshmallow Aliens (chocolate covered marshmallows), Saturn’s Rings (gummy rings), Outer Space Goldfish, Pop Rocks Marshmallow Pops, Moon Rocks (Cookie Crisp cereal), Space Worms (gummy worms), Pretzel Rockets (chocolate covered pretzel rods), Space Money (chocolate coins), and Gumball Meteors. There were also cupcakes in 5 different flavors. The kids loved all of the goodies!

NYR Organic Fall Catalog Launch

I was recently asked to come to an event my dear friend Kim was throwing, as she is a new consultant for NYR Organic.

Neal’s Yard Remedies is one of the top selling organic skincare lines in the UK, Japan and Dubai, and are now making their place in the US. They are driven by the passionate belief that health and beauty should be more natural and less synthetic. They have skin care, make up, shampoos, deodorant, essential oils, etc. You can see their products online here.

I made a small dessert table for guests to sample some treats, while they looked over the products and sampled those as well.

I made marshmallow pops using paper straws cut in half. I also made chocolate covered pretzels and put trail mix into cute candy cups for guests to be able to grab one and go. I made matching chevron print table tents to label all of the food items. I also sent guest home with a little chevron print favor bag with a chocolate dipped marshmallow treat as a little thank you from The Pretty Party Shoppe.

It was nice to be able to sample the organic essentials oils, organic lotions, and organic body butters. Kim brought lots of samples for everyone to try out, and then sent us all home with a goodie bag with more samples!

Pink Damask Princess 1st Birthday Party

Pink Damask Birthday Party Cake Pops

This adorable Pink Damask Princess 1st Birthday Party was submitted by Krista Staples.

In Krista’s words… “It’s so like me to plan well in advance for parties, especially our daughter’s first birthday party! I wanted something classic and timeless, so I chose to design a Pink Damask Princess Party. I had a vision of how I wanted Naomie’s birthday to look. I can only hope that one day she is as thrilled as I was to see how her 1st birthday was designed!

I am a hobby baker. I baked and designed all of the desserts and treats for Naomie’s party. Here’s what I made:

I lined the countertops with pink plastic tablecloths and then a strip of this beautiful Pink Damask fabric I purchased on Etsy. I used that fabric for her gift table too.

Custom favor tags were designed by The Pretty Party Shoppe.

Naomie’s Smash Cake was a Vanilla Cake with Buttercream Icing Rosettes. She wasn’t quite into “smashing” it, but definitely interested in it! I eventually had to take her hand and help her along with the messiness.”

Free Halloween Printable

Who is excited for Halloween? I thought I would share a free printable to get everyone started on the right foot. Because, well, who doesn’t like FREE stuff? I loooooove free.

I created 3 different designs, which you may use however you wish. (You may not sell, redistribute, or share as your own however. Please link back here if you want to share it with others, thank you!) You can use them for cupcake toppers, goodies bags, and favors for a Halloween party. Or, why not attach to goodies for your child’s class and share the holiday love? Get creative!

Here are a few examples to get you started. You can simply cut out into squares and hole punch, or use your fancy punch and cut out into circles. And for those of you with a Super Fancy Punch (TM), cut them out with a scalloped circle punch. Whatever you fancy.

If you need coordinating candy tubes, baker’s twine or other Halloween party goodies, you can find them in the shop.

Fall is Almost Here!

I am so excited that Fall is just around the corner. That means that the leaves will be changing colors, I’ll be making my favorite pumpkin recipes, and cooler weather is on its way. I love everything about Fall — baking and the smell of cinnamon filling the house, beautiful Fall colors, pumpkin anything, and the upcoming holidays. Plus, lots and lots of parties!

I thought I would share some inexpensive items to help you shop for some of your Fall events. I have lots of goodies, including Halloween baker’s twine, candy/nut cups, paper straws, goodie bags, and candy tubes. You can find all of these items in my Etsy Shop.
